This weekend (Dec 10-11) we had 16 Scouts and 4 adult leaders participate in our annual Introduction to Backpacking outing. We hiked into Cooper Canyon Trail Camp, right near Mt. Waterman. Did a side Nature Hike and worked on backpacking skills including water filtration and cooking on lightweight stoves. Also had a really nice campfire … even better since it was pretty cold up at 6,500’ on Saturday night. The outing concluded with a Scouts Own on Sunday morning before hiking out and back to La Canada. Click on "Read More" to see additional pictures.
