For those who need service hours for advancement, and in particular CONSERVATION service hours for advancement to Life, below is an opportunity to help the Rose Bowl District.
Help Us Build A Better Trask!
As part of our ongoing campaign to make Camp Trask even better, we have secured a $5,000 grant to build and install new picnic tables in each of the campsites. Now, we just need some awesome scout power to get it done!
Our mission
We will be purchasing metal picnic table frames along with wood for the seats and tabletops. We will cut and paint the wood, and then install it on the frame to create a picnic table. This will be easy and fun work with lots of opportunities for scouts of different skill levels.
Things to bring
Class B uniform, ten essentials, and work clothes (long pants, closed-toed shoes, and gloves). In addition, we would appreciate any power drills, circular saws, wrenches, hammers, pliers, and safety glasses that can be brought up for the day.
Lunch will be served!
This is a perfect opportunity for those scouts needing service hours for 2nd class (req 8e) or conservation-related service for 50-Miler awards to get the hours they need. What’s more, everyone who puts hands to the improvement of our camps will get to see their work in action every time we go to Trask!
