"Scouting’s Journey to Excellence" is the BSA’s performance recognition program designed to encourage and reward success and measure the performance of units, districts, and councils. It replaces the Centennial Quality Awards program as a means of encouraging excellence in providing a quality program at all levels of the BSA.

Troop 502 has been recognized as a Gold Award unit in every year that the Journey to Excellence program has been in existence, since January 2011.  The Gold Award is the highest award possible for Boy Scout Troop.  Recently, Troop 502 was again awarded the Gold Award unit distinction for 2017.  Congratulations to all of our scouts and leaders!

All scouts may wear their Gold Award patch displayed on the Class A uniform's right sleeve below the patrol emblem.
